Everything after it follows a fixed scope. 1. **Survey:** Roof, loft, board and meter position are checked and your usage pattern discussed. 2. **Fixed quote:** You receive a scope and a price, with anything conditional called out separately. 3. **Install:** Mounting, panels, cabling and inverter, with the battery if included. 4. **Commission and hand over:** The system is tested, commissioned and demonstrated, and you receive the documentation. ## What you are left with A working system, and the paperwork you need for the network operator and any future sale. - **A commissioned system:** Tested and demonstrated rather than simply energised. - **Documentation:** Certification and system details for your records and the network operator. - **Honest expectations:** What the system will realistically produce, and when, rather than a best-case figure. ## Solar and battery questions Clear answers before you request a survey. ### Why can you not give me a price over the phone? Because roof covering, pitch, shading, cable route and the state of your consumer unit each move the price materially. A phone figure would be a guess. ### Do I need a battery as well as panels? Only if your usage sits outside daylight hours. If you are in during the day and use power then, panels alone often make more sense. ### Can a battery be added to panels I already have? Usually yes. The existing inverter decides whether it is a straightforward addition or needs a hybrid replacement. ### Will my roof take the weight? That is one of the things the survey checks. Where a roof needs work first, you are told before committing. ### How long does installation take? A typical domestic array is a small number of days on site once scaffolding is up. The survey gives you a firm answer. ### Do you handle the network operator paperwork?
