EV charger installation in Maldon

A charge point in Maldon starts with the incoming supply and the route to where the car actually sits, which in the older streets is the harder half.

EV charger installation in Maldon

The board matters less than what feeds it. The main fuse rating and what the house already draws decide whether load management is needed, and that is established before anything is quoted.

Then the route. Off-street parking behind a High Street house often means a long run through or around the building, and where the parking is on the street rather than the property, the honest answer is that a fixed charger is not the right solution.

Why choose us

We are NAPIT registered under member number 80815, and NAPIT publish that listing on their own member search, so you can confirm it without asking us for anything. Beyond the registration, the things we hold ourselves to are simple: the fault explained in plain English, a price agreed before the work starts, and the certificate or report the job calls for handed over at the end.

  • Dedicated circuit, cabling and protective equipment in the quote
  • Mounting and connection
  • Testing and commissioning

How the installation works

    Survey and plan

Share the vehicle, parking, supply and cable-route details. A site visit is arranged when needed.

  2. 02

    Confirm and install

Complete any required permissions or network steps, then fit the chargepoint and dedicated circuit.

  3. 03

    Test and register

Commission the charger, explain the controls, provide the certificate and complete the required network notification.

I had an EV charger installed by Valand, and I couldn’t be more pleased. From the initial quote to the final inspection, the entire process was smooth and stress-free. He was knowledgeable, friendly, and made sure the charger was positioned exactly where I wanted it. All the necessary certificates provided and warranty as well. Excellent service from start to finish!

EV charger installation in Maldon — FAQs

I park on the street. Can I have one?+

Not a fixed charger. It has to mount on something you own and feed parking that belongs to the property. Trailing a cable across a footway is not something we will install.

The drive is round the back. How far can the cable run?+

Further than most people expect, but the run has to be sized for the distance and protected along its route. We measure it on the survey so the length is in the price, not a surprise.

Does the supply need upgrading?+

Sometimes. Where the main fuse and tails were sized for a smaller load, load management often solves it without touching the incoming service. We tell you which applies before you commit.

Does anyone have to be told?+

Yes. The network operator is notified for a charge point, and the work is notified through our NAPIT registration. We handle both.

What am I left with?+

An electrical installation certificate for the new circuit, the commissioning record for the unit, and the network notification done.

Tell us the property, the postcode and what is actually happening, and add a photo of the fuse board if a circuit keeps tripping. That is usually enough for us to say which service it maps to and what the next step is. Homeowners, landlords and businesses are all welcome.
