House rewiring
£2,400

Rewiring a waterside terrace in Brightlingsea is mapped before anything is lifted, because solid walls leave very few honest routes.

The terraces between the High Street and the waterside have no cavity, low ceilings and shallow voids. The route through the building is the whole problem, and it gets settled at the survey rather than discovered on site.
It runs in stages while you live there, a floor or a group of circuits at a time, each one tested and certificated as it finishes so nothing untested stays in use.
We are NAPIT registered under member number 80815, and NAPIT publish that listing on their own member search, so you can confirm it without asking us for anything. Beyond the registration, the things we hold ourselves to are simple: the fault explained in plain English, a price agreed before the work starts, and the certificate or report the job calls for handed over at the end.
Send the job details and you get a straight answer on what is involved and what happens next.
Your quote, updates, payments and receipts stay together.
Photos, access details and updates stay with the job from start to finish.
See a price where one is available. Any quoted work is agreed before it starts.
The quote records the agreed circuits, accessories, consumer unit and the boundary between electrical work and building work.
The process differs a great deal between an occupied home and an empty property, so agree the plan before booking.
The electrician inspects and tests the existing installation, then explains whether a full rewire, partial rewire or remedial work is supported by the findings.
Agree the circuit schedule, socket and switch positions, lighting points and consumer unit location before first fix starts.
Cable routes are formed, back boxes fitted and new cabling run. This is the dusty, disruptive stage and normally needs rooms cleared.
Accessories, lighting points and the consumer unit are fitted and connected once the surfaces are ready.
The installation is inspected and tested, the board is labelled, and the certificate and notification are provided.

Great work in the world thank you

I had an EV charger installed by Valand, and I couldn’t be more pleased. From the initial quote to the final inspection, the entire process was smooth and stress-free. He was knowledgeable, friendly, and made sure the charger was positioned exactly where I wanted it. All the necessary certificates provided and warranty as well. Excellent service from start to finish!

No, and mostly it should not be. Cable follows floor voids and existing routes where it can, and surface trunking is honest where there is no alternative. We show you which is which before you agree.
Only where the tests say so. If part of it was rewired recently and reads well, a partial rewire is the honest answer and we price that instead.
Chases are filled and made good to a plasterable finish. Decoration is separate unless you ask us to arrange it, and it is stated plainly on the quote.
Yes. Whole-house isolation is limited to short agreed periods, and the rest of the time you keep working circuits where you need them.
Several days for a typical terrace, longer where floors do not lift easily. You get the programme with the quote.

Tell us the property, the postcode and what is actually happening, and add a photo of the fuse board if a circuit keeps tripping. That is usually enough for us to say which service it maps to and what the next step is. Homeowners, landlords and businesses are all welcome.
