Why do my outside lights keep failing?+
Usually water and salt getting into the fitting or the gland. A coastal position needs enclosures rated for it and glands fitted properly, and the cheapest fitting is rarely cheapest over five years.
Can it run off the existing outside socket?+
Sometimes, for a small run. For anything substantial, or anything reaching an outbuilding, its own way at the board is the right answer and it is not much more work.
Can I have lighting down the garden to the boat store?+
Yes, with buried cable at the right depth, sized for the distance and protected properly. The route is set out on the survey before anything is dug.
Downlights in a chalet ceiling?+
It depends on the void. Shallow roof space limits both the depth of fitting and the clearance from insulation, so we check before promising a look you cannot actually have.
What am I left with?+
A minor works certificate for an alteration, or an installation certificate where a new circuit was added, plus the test results either way.
